The American Israel Public Affairs Committee looks for students who are interested in foreign policy with a mid-east focus. Contact RBarnes@aipac.org.
Fall, Spring, and Summer internships also are available with the United States Department of State. Most internships are in Washington, D.C. Interns are assigned junior-level, para-professional duties which may include research, report writing, correspondence, information systems, analysis of international issues, and assistance in cases related to domestic and international law. Application deadlines usually are November 1 (summer); March 1 (fall); and July 1 (spring).
The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency offers summer internships for college graduates interested in overseas operations careers with the Agency. Interns must be American citizens with at least a 3.0 GPA and they must be able to pass rigorous physical and security screening and commit themselves to at least 18 months of service with the CIA after graduation.

The Institute for Experiential Learning (IEL) has developed an Embassy and Diplomatic Scholars Internship Program in Washington, D.C. The program is available to college students with at least sophomore status and a 3.0 GPA. IEL may be contacted at 800-IEL-0770 (e-mail info@ielnet.org).
Ohio University offers internships with the Welsh National Assembly in Cardiff, Wales. The internships are open to juniors and seniors with 3.0 GPA who have had prior course work in British or European politics. Students earn 12 semester hours credit.
