There usually are internships in the Governor and Lieutenant Governors' Offices. Interns work in one of the following areas: public policy, public relations/press, scheduling, and legislative research, or constituent correspondences and casework.
The International Mass Retail Association has a summer internship in its state government affairs division in Rosslyn, Virginia. Candidates should possess an interest in state government relations and have a working knowledge of Word 6.0. They assist with monitoring and reporting on legislative issues affecting the mass retail industry.
