The Heritage Foundation was founded in 1973 to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional family values and a strong national defense. Interns conduct research for Heritage's senior fellows, attend briefings in Congress, and hear from prominent public policy experts at weekly intern seminars. The Center for Victims of Torture offers fall, spring, and summer internships for students who: (1) are familiar with human rights issues; (2) work well both independently and as a member of a team; and (3) have strong written and verbal communications skills. Zero Population Growth has internships in Washington, D.C. for college graduates, graduate students and undergraduates. Interns assist staff with research needed for publications, development of teaching materials, and correspondence. They also attend hearings and participate in a broad range of activities for the organization. Internships are for six months.
